J7 Marketing is a company that was formed through a greater power than any of us will ever comprehend.
Jim Dodrill, owner and president of J7 Marketing, began his advertising and marketing career with West
Virginia Radio Corporation. For seven years, Jim worked his way up the corporate ladder from account
executive to sales manager to station manager. He was living the American dream…but oddly enough,
the American dream was not making Jim happy.
Then, in July, 1997, Jim, at a Promise Keepers rally in Pittsburgh, found a higher calling in Jesus Christ.
With drastically changed goals and desires, Jim continued to work for West Virginia Radio Corporation but
knew there was another place he was meant to be.
The first step in Jim’s journey was to leave West Virginia Radio and become vice president of an Ohio-based
advertising agency, Em-media. There, Jim worked for three years learning what it takes to run an agency,
how to work hand in hand with clients, focusing on clients’ overall needs and learning the intricacies of other
mediums.
After three years at Em-media, Jim left to form J7 Marketing in July 2001. Over the past two plus years, J7
Marketing has grown to one of north central West Virginia’s most respected advertising agencies because of
Jim’s focus on the Lord and on what is best for the company’s clients.
J7 Marketing’s focus started out in helping local businesses in the north central West Virginia area to become
more successful. But because of the company’s strong reputation and Jim’s desire to put others first and to
"do things the right way," J7 Marketing has grown and now not only works with local clients but also with
regional and statewide companies.
